Apache Ground Balls

Begin with two teams, white/black, with white on O and Black on D.

Make teams with any number from 3/side to 6/side.

Play starts with the offensive team in a line and circling the goal clockwise on the crease.  The defensive team will be circling the crease in the opposite direction and in a circle between the crease and the goal.

A ball is rolled out and all of the players break out to compete for the ball and play.  If the offensive team wins the ball, they attack the goal.  If the defensive team gets the ball, they clear it.

Alternate with two balls each and keep score to make it competitive.

  • This drill keeps them guessing and learning to adapt to chaos and unsettled situations.
